The Moratorium Continues

By Dan T. Rosenbaum is reporting that the moratorium will not end on July 22nd because negotiations for the new collective bargaining agreement are ongoing. A tentative agreement was passed on June 21, so this will push the post-agreement negotiations past a month. During the negotiations for the 1999 CBA a tentative agreement was in place on January 6 and the moratorium ended on January 21 - a span of 15 days.

Now, of course, there was a lot more pressure to resolve issues last time when games were being lost, but this suggests that these negotiations are more than a mere formality. It will be interesting to see the outcome.
